Travel Journal from Thailand Chiang Mai, Thailand | Wed Jul 04, 2012

Hello again! So, mel and I enjoyed a lovely weekend off in chiang mai. We went along to that different market on the Monday night but it turned out to be a lot more manic than the Sunday one, so we weren't that keen. We both got quite harassed by the sellers, to which one point I literally had to drag mel to get away from this man! Ooooo, so we were in …

Ok so this is crazy but I have just had a thought... I know amazing right?! But seriously this time next week I will be saying my last goodbyes to the girls as I won't see them on the Friday because they leave for school at some rediculous unsociable hour, I've heard they call it 7.30 am! Whatever it is it sounds horrific to me! ;) haha. But yeah I literally …

So I'm sitting in the coffee shop in our village as I write this. I come here sometimes to write and enjoy some mango and sticky rice. The ladies are so sweet here, they get my drink and they turn the fan to my direction. It's really hot today so I'm hoping the sun is going to work some magic on my skin too! I'm so friggin excited about my last …

  • Mel comes to town! :)

Travel Journal from Thailand Chiang Mai, Thailand | Mon Jul 02, 2012

Another great weekend off! So mel and I headed of to chiang mai on Sunday afternoon and got to the guesthouse to drop our stuff off before heading out again. It feels weird me showing someone else around chiang mai as it has usually been me looking like a tourist! The town felt so big when I first came and now I'm walking around as if it's sunny Brighton. So, of …

Travel Journal from Thailand Chiang Mai, Thailand | Sat Jun 30, 2012

Today has been a positively uplifting day, I'm finally starting to feel better and my ears seem to be hearing normal sounds again which is encouraging! We have a new volunteer from new zealand who joined us on Tuesday and she's really lovely. She has asked if she can come with me for my nights off in  Chiang mai this weekend. I said "well as long as you can put …

To all those travelling to the Philippines let me just tell you that as soon as possible change one of your P500 or P1000 notes and get some 20, 50 and 100 Peso notes. Try and do this before you get a taxi for example because many taxi drivers will say they do not have change and you will end up paying far too much for your taxi ride. Also, when travelling by taxi always use a metre taxi and make sure that they switch it on so you don't get ripped off!
