Travel Journal from Thailand Chiang Mai, Thailand | Thu Jul 12, 2012

Ok, so I'm going to write today as if I'm not leaving tomorrow. So I'm hoping this will be like a relatively normal journal... We'll see...So, I woke up and went on my morning bike ride. It's extra hot today, you know this because the fan is on 5 instead of the usual 3! Mel and I spent about an hour today pulling the ticks of the puppy. He has been …

Karli has arrived safely which has been great and both her, mel and myself have had some somewhat crazy adventures over the past 2 days.So yesterday we went to the night market (as you do) and got to show karli around and hopefully try and help her get a feel for the area. After a …

Hello! :)So... I guess you are all itching to hear about my elephant ride as much as I'm itching from this barbaric mosquito bites! We had to be up and ready quite early today for when we got picked up. It was a really nice minibus though with good comfy seats so I managed to get some more kip on the way there. The drive to the elephant centre was …

Travel Journal from Thailand Chiang Mai, Thailand | Wed Jul 11, 2012

Ok, so I'm warning you now that these last journals that I will be writing this week are likely to be somewhat depressing and morbid to read because I'm starting to feel a tad strange. I knew I was going to feel sad about leaving but I didn't realise how strange I would feel. I have had a really great last couple of days and now I'm sitting in the …

Travel Journal from Thailand Chiang Mai, Thailand | Sat Jul 07, 2012

So I have had a full on day of joy today! I was woken up by a crying little girl early this morning who was crying because she'd cut her foot on something. So I wobble out of bed half asleep and immediately have to wake myself up to start the day. When I'd fixed her with a plaster and was ready to send her on her way and secretly …

To all those travelling to the Philippines let me just tell you that as soon as possible change one of your P500 or P1000 notes and get some 20, 50 and 100 Peso notes. Try and do this before you get a taxi for example because many taxi drivers will say they do not have change and you will end up paying far too much for your taxi ride. Also, when travelling by taxi always use a metre taxi and make sure that they switch it on so you don't get ripped off!
