  • Budapest for a day

Travel Journal from Austria Wien - Donaustadt, Austria | Wed Jan 04, 2012

After about a 4 hour drive from Zagreb, we made it to Budapest.  We rented a car and found it so fun to road trip our way across Europe.  We got lost a couple times and had some difficulty communicating in Hungarian, but it was all part of the adventure.  To drive in Budapest, you have to stop at one of the gas stations in Hungary to register your car …

I had the chance to go on a trip to some waterfalls in Lawaan on the island of Samar. Waking up at 6, I was not in the best of moods and trekking through the jungle in the hot-hot …

  • The long road to Borneo

Travel Journal from Malaysia Borneo, Malaysia | Mon Aug 08, 2011

Working for Kaya in their Philippines office has meant that I’ve been lucky enough to have a number of escapes throughout Asia during my 9 months here. My latest was a trip down to Borneo to check out a new Marine Conservation Project working to help protect the coral reefs which have been affected by decades’ worth of fish bombing. My journey starts here...After a …

Hi! I've missed this site!  I've been home for a bit more than a month and really look back at our incredible journey so fondly.  I can't wait for our next travels.  I went to Charlotte, NC for a work conference a few days ago which was a nice place to visit.  Sometimes I forget that within my own country there are still a lot of places I want to visit. …

To all those travelling to the Philippines let me just tell you that as soon as possible change one of your P500 or P1000 notes and get some 20, 50 and 100 Peso notes. Try and do this before you get a taxi for example because many taxi drivers will say they do not have change and you will end up paying far too much for your taxi ride. Also, when travelling by taxi always use a metre taxi and make sure that they switch it on so you don't get ripped off!
